Option to add variable in reusable content

Good morning!

I would like to inquire whether GitBook has plans to support variables in reusable content.

For instance, consider a file named permissions.md that states one needs administrator permissions to perform specific tasks. We want an option to call this note across product categories, but with an option to include a variable within it, which shall help generate varied outputs based on the variable used.

Example:

Note: Ensure you have the necessary permission to complete the task.

It would be nice if GitBook allowed us to replace necessary with a variable that automatically pulls in another piece of reusable content. This way, we could produce different outputs based on the variables.

So, the above note would change as follows:

1. Note: Ensure you have the acct-variable permission to complete the task.
2. Note: Ensure you have the api-variable permission to complete the task.

The output of the above examples would be:

1. Note: Ensure you have the Create and manage account permission to complete the task.

2. Note: Ensure you have the Create and manage API permission to complete the task.

Additional examples include:

• GitBook should allow for the inclusion of reusable content across the product documentation portal for different product categories. This should include an option to personalize the content with variables that reflect the specific product name, rather than relying on generic reusable text.
• Option to use a variable within a navigation path that generates relevant content based on the reusable content to accurately reflect the menu.

Hi Dimple, thank you for creating the feature request to enhance content reuse in GitBook. I upvote this request.
To further add to this request, could these variables be configured as global and space-specific variables?
Global variables can be applied across any space, such as user guides and APIs.
Space-specific variables can be defined and applied only for a specific space, for example, user guides.
