follow-up on batocera/home directory

Hi,

I'm using the HOME=/userdata/system/pro/steam/home folder for the conty container. Many apps seem to have no problem with recognizing that as the home folder. Bottles required me change the bottles folder..it looked like it was trying to map to the hosts ~/.bottles or .someother hidden folder which on batocera is just /userdata/system and complaining it was read-only. Some custom apps I've added to refuse to run at all; i'm thinking they are also trying to use .hidden folders in batoceras ~/ , and I'm guessing they are also seeing as some sort of read-only folder instead of using the /userdata/system/pro/steam/home as the mapped folder in the conty command. Any ideas?

Hi, apart from HOME env variable there might be others like XDG_CONFIG_HOME or XDG_DATA_HOME, which may point to /userdata/system/.something. If they exist, they also need to be changed. You can try to find them with:

$ export | grep XDG
$ export | grep userdata

Well, if there are no variables containing path to /userdata/system, applications shouldn't store there anything unless you explicitly tell them to or unless they have special conditions for batocera.

a few of them seem to be repackaged appimage apps in the aur, so adding extract-and-run flag makes them work. Not sure about bigger ones I tried like davinci resolve.
