This would allow some cool things in terms of automated player/item transportation

Any news on this being implemented? Is this mod still being developed?

Yes, it is. I'm currently working on a mod for the build competition however. I have attempted this and it was harder than I thought (although now items actually stay on the moved block, and updating to 3.0.0 is also a challenge.
