I tried to compile hplip-printer-app for 2 days, with not luck (outdated linux installation, lack of skills, etc ...). But then I found I actually do not need it :
just install CUPS
install hplip package, run hp-setup (or "hp-setup -i" in my case because I use very old computer without graphical interface) and install printer
add printer thru CUPS web interface (you will probably need to edit also cupsd.conf before connecting to web interface, because there are some security/SSL/https/IP adresses/etc ... restriction by default)
in computer where you want to print from (windows 10 for example) just add the shared printer like in my case "http://192.168.1.202:631/printers/hp_LaserJet_1010", and choose for example Microsoft PS class driver, or HP LaserJet 3055, some other generic PS driver. Now you can print.
