Hi

Fyi: arti-ureq just got merged into the main branch of the Arti (Tor) Project. This will be released next month and will allow users to use the ureq library over the Tor network.

Thanks for your support and advice.

Excellent!

What would you say the advantage is of using ureq for Arti over the other backends?

All the advantages of ureq automatically transfer to arti-ureq automatically, only with an extra layer of anonymity.

I think it's just really important to make anonymity - aka (internet) freedom - as available as possible, and provide the tools for that.

An implementation for ureq is undebatable necessary in this endeavor because it distinguishes itself a lot by how easy-to-use it is compared to alternative http libraries (e.g by being non-blocking, and having a clear and understandable API). Thanks to ureq we are able to make it possible for users to also make Tor connections with the same ease.

Without it, users would maybe discard the option to provide anonymity because implementing a custom transporter for Arti in other http libraries is too complex.

TL;DR
ureq is an amazing http client allowing programmers to connect their software and ideas to the www, and with ureq-arti we allow them do it it anonymous. Thanks for making and maintaining this library by the way, it has a significant impact in the Rust ecosystem.
