CodeOps Studio: Contributor Code of Conduct

This code of conduct outlines our expectations for all participants in CodeOps Studio and the consequences for unacceptable behavior. We aim to create a safe and positive environment for everyone.

Our Commitment

We are committed to fostering a harassment-free community where all participants can contribute and collaborate in a positive and respectful manner. Regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, appearance, race, religion, or sexual orientation, everyone is welcome. We strive to maintain an inclusive environment that values diversity and promotes empathy.

Our Standards

Positive behaviors include:

  • Demonstrating empathy and kindness
  • Respecting differing opinions and experiences
  • Giving and accepting constructive feedback
  • Taking responsibility for mistakes and learning from them
  • Focusing on the community's best interests

Expected behaviors:

  • Participate authentically and actively
  • Show consideration, respect, and empathy
  • Avoid demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior
  • Resolve disagreements respectfully

Unacceptable behaviors:

  • Threats or violence
  • Discriminatory jokes or language
  • Posting explicit or violent material
  • Doxing
  • Personal insults
  • Unwanted sexual attention
  • Encouraging any of the above behaviors
  • Making jokes of sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist or otherwise discriminatory nature, or use language of this nature.

Online communities are diverse, bringing together individuals from various cultures and backgrounds. This diversity can sometimes result in misunderstandings due to cultural differences and the nature of online communication. Therefore, fostering empathy is crucial for maintaining a positive and inclusive environment.

Consequences of Unacceptable Behaviour

Unacceptable behaviour from any community member will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behaviour is expected to comply immediately. If a community member engages in unacceptable behaviour, EUP and/or community organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including a temporary ban or permanent expulsion from the community without warning.

How to report issues

If someone is acting inappropriately or violating this Code of Conduct in any shape or form, and they are not receptive to your feedback or you prefer not to confront them, please reach out to EUP via etido.up@gmail.com or to any community organiser on our Telegram group
