Twinkly Gold/AWW lights don't allow color selection #132495

The problem

The Twinkly integration doesn't allow color selection for Twinkly gold lights / AWW lights. See also #106393.

Therefore, only effects selection and on/off can be controlled via HA. According to the integration documentation, it should also be possible to select static colors as well.

This is what a Twinkly AWW light looks like:

I'm happy to try and fix this if that would be desirable.

Same problem here. Exactly the same setup, firmware. I cannot switch the effects to a plain supported color withon HA. The proposed solution seems to be the correct (and easiest) one to solve this problem with the Twinkly AWW string. Following this issue and hoping someone is able to implement it before christmas 🙃
