OK, my first iNAV (as distinct from Ardupilot) newly set up quad, is at the following stage......... It flies quite well, and stabilised/acro switched Modes work, along with the usual buzzer, arming, etc. OSD displays into my DJI V2 Goggles (DJI Custom, not WTFOS). Shows fields Including working GPS data. My GPS (Matek 10Q 5883) works well into iNAV Configurator showing maps, accurate positioning. I do not have any issue with allocating modes to switches in my X16S, EXCEPT, there's no MODE page lines visible for either Position Hold nor Altitude Hold in iNAV Configurator, not even there but greyed out, those choices are just missing. Yes, I am looking at the list inc those options not active. Watched several videos, all of which say " go to Modes page, choose from PH and/or AH list and set to a channel / switch". But I have no list items TO choose. Feeling pretty stupid but I have not solved it, so here I am................... |

Thanks for the detailed information. You already addressed the first two things I would have suggested that you check. Can we see a screenshot the Modes tab in Configurator, and also the status icons along the top showing that the sensors are working? |

Yeah it does look like something stupid is happening - probably not you being stupid, though. Because I've seen pretty much every different way people can be stupid with INAV, and this looks different from what I've seen before. Most problems, I've seen before and can give a clear solution, but I'm not yet sure what's happening here. Is this INAV 8.0.0? Two things come to mind for me. First, on the GPS tab (or the Configuration tab), there is a slider for "GPS for Navigation and telemetry". Let's make sure that is turned on. Then, save and reboot. Close Configurator, re-open it and connect. Then check the Modes tab . |

@BadRaven Looking at the Configurator image, you're using pre 8.0 firmware.. In that case, because you don't have an active barometer. You are required to enter |

Thanks for replies guys. after a quick newbie stumble, command is "set inav_use_gps_no_baro = ON" And that brought up:- No more time now (I'm already late!!), be Sunday night, but looks like that was it! |

Thanks very much for your time and patience with a "navigation newbie". Suspicious of the (now quite old) and more limited features board, I have decided to cease fighting it and purchase a modern more designed for the purpose better featured board. Had tried to re-map a spare UART to I2C for the compass and failed. Basically not confident with it even if it can be fought into nav operation. I should have listened to myself when I saw it was an early version of the board! The Evoque is (was!) a relative oddity as despite its Dead Cat full 5" frame it only had a 20mm stack, mainly I think as it has full side plates with LEDS taking up space. They "hid" this at the time in advertising or, like Joshua Bardwell, I'd have avoided it, but only discovered after delivery. This was several years ago! I have a MicoAir 743-AIO to install now as this will fit the space, rotated 45 degrees. Looks like a section of the Evoque plastic moulded side plates is shaped to be cut away to clear the larger boards, it has frame mounting holes for the size. Anyway, thanks again, and this thread can be closed. |

and save. Before altitude based modes will appear in the modes tab for use.
