From what I saw in the documentation, the knowledge base metadata is not used at any time.

In the context in which I am using Dify, the date of the documents is very relevant in the sense that a question about, say, industrial production in November 2024 cannot make use of documents released before then. Is anyone working on a similar problem?

The solution I've found so far is to create two knowledge bases, one complete with documents from the whole period and a smaller one with only documents from the last 2 months, which reduces the chance of this problem occurring.
