Show the list of selected packages to install in dropdown

When I select multiple packages to install in the environment, it would be nice if I could select "3 selected" to show that packages were selected or if they were brought to the top of the list dynamically

No the 3 selected is not a button, just an indicator. It's essentially a badge.

Is this behavior something you've seen in other experiences? Any prior art?

No prior art necessarily - in this scenario I do think it would be beneficial since the list of "common" packages is quite long, it would be nice if the user had a quick way to see what they selected prior to moving on to installation.

I think it makes sense. We can probably do this on the Core side without extension API... by making that "3 selected" as some kind of toggle/filter.
