Preferred resolution for elevation images

Is there a preferred resolution / file size limit for elevation images? On my screen when viewing a rack, 1U equates to 328x31 so that is what I was using to generate my images. This results in an 18k file. But perusing some of the other additions to the devicetype-library some seem bigger.

I don't think there is any recommendation on file size
