Ock-forge should be supported on Oracle Linux 8. Enabling ock-forge on OL8 requires

  1. Removing or adding alternatives to oracle linux 9 specific code/commands
  2. Ensuring that ock-forge works with the OL8 version of rpm-ostree
  3. Updating the readme and other documentation as required.

Is there any evidence that the tool does not run with OL8.6? All OS specific stuff, especially when it comes to OL9, are packaged into container images.
