Version 1.0.0 of fosite

we found your great framework fosite for OIDC and oAuth2 Framework and we are now wondering when the version 1.0.0 will be available.

Is this project still in beta or is it ready for productive use?

Due to the complexity involved in using this library, consider using https://github.com/ory/hydra instead. It will save you a lot of work, like really a lot. The code is production ready though but we don't plan on releasing a v1 anytime soon, as we will likely keep breaking the API contract for a while and don't want to release v1,v2,v3,v4 every couple of months :)

thank you for the reply, but we are looking for a framework to integrate in our own software an not a complete software like hydra.

So you have no worries when we use the current state of fosite in our software for productive use?

I would not recommend using this library to implement your own OAuth2 server unless you have very comprehensive knowledge of OAuth2 and OpenID Connect and know all of the OAuth2 and OpenID Connect spec by heart. There is a lot of implicit and undocumented stuff that you need to know. There are probably easier to use libraries from other people with better docs. The primary use case of this library is to enable Ory Hydra.

What are you trying to achieve and why is Hydra not a good fit? What were the evaluation criteria?

we don´t want a seperate software doing the authentication we want a single application that also handles the authentication stuff. we work on embedded devices and need a simple deployment
