See gfx-rs/wgpu#6719

Not sure if you want to follow a) WebGPU or b) wgpu-native.

For a) wait for solution on wgpu side and use it like Firefox
For b) we need access to get_timestamp_period in wgpu-py

b) doesn't appear to be possible, there is no wgpuQueueGetTimestampPeriod (currently)
a) should resolve itself when the wgpu issue for firefox is solved

closing for now.
