is there a problem with the repos for erlang #11341
-
hi all Is there an issue with the repos for erlang8/9 (centos8/9) during rabbitmq installation. I am getting this error and have tried several different things. I tried both sets of scripts for centos 9 and 8 I am using the scripts from the official website and have this running on debian/ubuntu. I am migrating some of the servers to centos and hence the issue with the dnf/rpm install. All scripts are basically unmodified from the official website. I am using with Cloudformation nested stack, but isolated the issue to the server installation itself as manual installation via SSH is failing as well. The /etc/yum.repos.d/rabbitmq.repo looks good as well. I did the standard browser test to the urls below and they are all 404s. [root@ip-172-31-81-210 yum.repos.d]# sudo dnf update -y
[centos@ip-172-31-93-33 yum.repos.d]$ sudo dnf update -y
dig NS for novemberain.com and cloudsmith.io are ok but the hosted zones yum2 and yum and dl are not. thanks and warm regards |

hi malssh <<< Maybe u could add rpm for el9 to releases assets?? That would help so that we can access erlang9. If you are interested here is the manual UserData block (using rpms) from the cloudformation yaml template that works for latest rabbitmq/erlang install on centos stream8 warm regards

According to mirror logs and metrics, both mirrors are fine. They have served millions of requests and tens of GiBs of data in the last ≈ 24 hours. |

Nearly all 404s our mirrors get come from the fact that some try to use them on 32-bit operating systems, which we do not and will not provide packages for. Another set of environments we do not support is aarch64 packages of Erlang. They are built manually locally and uploaded to GitHub releases but not to Cloudsmith and thus not to the mirrors. According to the logs and metrics an absolute majority of requests are If mirrors were down, we'd be flooded with similar questions. |

@malsssh we cannot commend on "it does not work". If the Erlang repo "does not work" how come according to the logs it serves multiple requests per second and we are not flooded with similar complaints? |

@malsssh I do not observe any anomalies w.r.t. RPM repo operations, neither from metrics nor from logs nor from a test on Fedora 40 with the following configuration:
