@chinglamyung hello, Some drives that Asus publishes on their website (G-Helper shows you a mirror of that site), especially for GPUs are often outdated. Thanks. |

I had no issues using my new laptop for everyday tasks prior to installing the latest intel integrated graphics driver.
After a few days, I found out about ghelper and used the "Updates" button on ghelper to update the driver to the latest version.
CPU temperatures were normal, not very hot or anything. Was doing several peer-to-peer file sharing of around 10-20 GB but that shouldn't stress out the CPU right?
However, I got two blue screens back to back.
To troubleshoot, I used WinDBG to analyze the dump files and the error is:
video_tdr_failure (116) attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed.
at the end of the anaylsis I see:
Which is weird because the nvidia dGPU was not being used at all, and I'm also running on windows 11.
Originally I thought it was purely a driver fault with the newest intel driver. Because of this, I swapped my GPU mode to "ultimate" where my laptop display exclusively uses dGPU instead of iGPU. This seemed like a choice that made sense at the time.
For what it's worth, I haven't had another BSOD (yet), but I'm still wondering about the cause of the first two BSODs.
Any insights?
