Manage label when lot of option selected

The problematic : when a multiple select have lot of value selected, depending on the situation it can be problematic

For example in my case , screen for illustrate 👍

So I've been thinking about some possible solutions.

1. Add an option custom_label as an object with label and limit attribute and and just add the processing into current addItem method
2. Add a plugin with same name custom_label and replace all method addItem for manage this case

So please don't hesitate do propose other solutions or to orient myself in the best way 👍
