It was last updated in 2010 and fails to install via gem install libarchive on Debian.

See this corresponding issue.

Note also that whoever wrote it completely ignored some significant and obvious mistakes that the warnings pointed out (like using % instead of %s).

Perhaps use ffi-libarchive instead?

Haven't heard of ffi-libarchive, will have to check it out.

  Don't run key.recalculate_ready! if translated state changes. Approved is what we should look for.
