Sublime Text seems to be a fairly simple editor. But I don't know it, I've only read about it once. |

@quivis Visual Studio Code is really good for HTML, CSS and JS has live preview. You will have to install a few plugins same thing with Sublime Text but they both work very well |

Thanks James. I've tried VS but found all the extra bits needed to make it
work irritating to put it mildly. I've reverted to Atom even though Adobe
have dumped it. Thanks again.

Not tried that. I'll have a look. I'm only rebuilding a static family
website, undemanding of much in the way of bells and whistles. In the past
I always used Homesite 5 which I much preferred to Dreamweaver - so I'm old
skool!

This question is about, and only about, editing software for Bootstrap 5.
I'm thinking of resuscitating my website. In the past I've used both Joomla, Wordpress and Bootstrap 3 but I wrote my own html5 and css for my most recent website. I thought I do the final version [I'm 76 and ought to know better] in BS 5 which obviously differs somewhat from 3. The main problem I have is finding a code editor. I used to use Homesite 5 until it was phased out. In spite of that I continued to use it and Dreamweaver but they became unreliable at rendering accurately in browsers so I gradually moved to Atom which now also seems to have been scrapped. So the hunt is on for a decent editor - decent = something better to use than notepad!
I have looked at Visual Studio, Phoenix, Blue Griffon, Pinegrow, and Silex and basically hate them all and for much the same reason. I don't want to have to spend hours and hours learning how to use what is essentially a text editor. Something that works out of the box, without having to install this, that and the other to make it work will be ideal. My OS is W10.
The website itself is essentially dull. Static pages of text with images and the occasional bit of video. It needs to be responsive but other than that I am not interested in impressing anyone with popovers, graphic effects etc. The sooner I can get back to playing the cello and reading William Dunbar ["Done is a battell on the dragon blak…" that Dunbar] the better.
And suggestions gratefully received!
