Impossible to change the Month or the Year on a Date field

Bug Description

Clicking on a month or a year closes the dropdown but doesn't persist the update.

The same thing happens for form date fields:

Expected behavior

Selecting a value on the month and year selects must either:

1. Change the value of the field — this is the previous behavior, and I think it's broken
2. Switch the calendar view to another month without changing the field's value

I think we want to bring back the first option. Anyway, selecting a value in the selects must result in a UI update.
