DDC CI Hardware deteaction and control not working

Issue 1: Report Creation Stuck When Enabling "DDC Feature & Capabilities"

When the "DDC Feature & Capabilities" option is selected, all subcategories remain at their initial state and do not progress. As a result, the report creation process never completes.

Issue 2: Hardware Brightness Control Not Working for LG 34WK650-W

Hardware brightness adjustment does not work for the LG 34WK650-W monitor. However, brightness can be successfully controlled using the MonitorControl app, indicating that DDC/CI is supported but not functioning correctly within this application.

Does brightness control work without completing DDC detection? Are you sure it's DDC control in MonitorControl, not only the software dimming component of the slider works (0-50%)?

• Checked MonitorControl is doing the software dimming.

Does brightness control work without completing DDC detection?

• When "Enable DDC Control" is enabled, but when doing the "Detect DDC Capabilities," all sub-categories produce the results after a long time (approx 15 min after few test)
• Even after the detection it is not working
• Have tested DDC control on windows, working fine no software dimming.

Ok, if MonitorControl is not working + DDC read generally does not work, while with the exact same connection/port DDC works with Windows, then it might be some kind of Mac issue. Make sure you have the display directly connected (not through a dongle, dock etc), preferably using a passive USB-C to DisplayPort cable (this will provide a native connection to the display).

If you can't make DDC work, you can simply turn it off and use software dimming/control.
