These are currently on my list of what COULD be implemented, there is no guarantee if and when they will be available!

  • Multiple control page color themes (implemented in 0.5.0)
  • Integration of a simple weather API. Will allow for sunset/sunrise automation and LED color based on weather.
  • Most Timezones. At the moment, time features only work in Central Europe. (mostly implemented in 0.6.0)
  • Second color default can be set (implemented in 0.5.0)
  • Support of status LED
  • Support for more buttons and actions
  • Rotary encoder support
  • Limited Synchronization to Philips Hue system (implemented in 0.5.1)
  • Overhaul of Settings for better user experience (implemented in 0.5.0)
  • Setup assistant (welcome page instead for now)
  • Option to passwort-protect index, api or settings
  • Captive Portal (DNS server) for Access Point (implemented in 0.6.0)
  • Time controlled API macros for advanced users
  • Macros for Alexa control, button and more (implemented in 0.6.0)
  • Adapting methods to allow for more than 255 LEDs (implemented in 0.6.4)
  • MQTT support
  • Control via serial interface
  • Android app for easy control
  • More effects and settings for the CRONIXIE clock
  • More button functions than on/off (double click, hold, ...) (long press implemented in 0.6.0)
  • Ambilight protocol support (Adalight implemented in 0.6.4)

Known Bugs

  • LED strip may flicker with ESP32. See (#2)
  • After long runtime, module may reboot when loading settings page
  • The mDNS service (led.local) only works with DHCP, not with a static IP
  • Web UI might not load properly. Closing the page, waiting a few seconds, then reloading usually works
