Overview:
The Open Development 3d6 Game System (OD3d6GS) has reached its first alpha release. This version introduces the foundational mechanics, character creation guidelines, and gameplay elements designed to empower players and Game Masters to craft unique and dynamic adventures. This release marks the beginning of an iterative development process, inviting community feedback to refine and enhance the system.
What's Included:

- Innovative 3d6 roll system for challenges, attacks, and saves.
- Flexible action economy using Effort, divided into Maintained, Spent, and Burnt categories, for resourceful and tactical play.

- Simplified Attribute Point Distribution rule: Players ensure the total Attribute Bonuses equal +6.
- Clear definition of Skill Categories (Heritage, Archetype, Supplemental, and Specific) and their integration into character progression.
- Selection of Skill Groups (e.g., Shield Arts, Athletics, Hydromancy) and Specific Skills for detailed customization.

- Mastery levels (Novice to Grandmaster) for scaling abilities and improving character growth.
- Rules for associating skills and abilities with Attributes to fit unique playstyles.

- Rules for rolling dice, handling thresholds, and integrating effort into combat strategies.

Known Issues and Areas for Feedback:
- Balance Refinement: Further testing is needed for Effort costs and ability effectiveness.
- Accessibility: Player aids like cheat sheets, flowcharts, and quick-start guides are planned for future iterations.
- Advanced Content: Scaling for enemies and integration of non-combat mechanics require additional development.
- Clarity in Documentation: The definitions of Skill Categories, Skill Groups, and Specific Skills have been recently revised and require thorough community review.

- Continued playtesting to refine core mechanics and ensure balance.
- Expansion of the Stereotera: Infinite Realms campaign setting.
