We’re thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our journey—Chainloop Open Source Project has reached its Release Candidate stage!
We’d like to thank the contributors, users, and customers who have accompanied us on this journey, helping us refine Chainloop’s reliability, scalability, and feature set.
With this release candidate, we’ve refined Chainloop’s core capabilities. Key highlights include:
- Open-standards attestation process: Our attestation process now leverages Sigstore bundles, timestamp servers, ephemeral certificates, pluggable PKI, and federated OIDC authentication.
- Customizable policy engine: Write and evaluate custom Rego and Open Policy Agent policies on any piece of evidence.
- Extensible plugin system: Operators can extend Chainloop functionality by setting up third-party integrations that operate on your attestation metadata. A popular integration is Dependency-Track, and the community keeps contributing more.
- Production readiness: Chainloop is now fully compatible with a more stringent deployment in Openshift, AWS, or Azure Kubernetes offerings and has undergone performance testing analysis.
The release candidate phase is an opportunity for our community to test, validate, and provide feedback before we finalize Chainloop 1.0. We encourage everyone to explore the RC, report issues, and help us ensure a rock-solid launch
