A customized US keyboard layout with cryptocurrency and financial symbols.
Download and mount the latest .dmg
file from the releases page. Double-click the installer package to install.
Choose one of the following methods:
Per User Installation:

Copy the
crypto.bundle
file to the~/Library/Keyboard\ Layouts/
directory.cp crypto.bundle ~/Library/Keyboard\ Layouts/

Set the keyboard layout in System Settings > Keyboard > Input Sources > + > Others > Crypto Keyboard.
System-wide Installation:

Copy the
crypto.bundle
file to the/Library/Keyboard\ Layouts/
directory.sudo cp crypto.bundle /Library/Keyboard\ Layouts/

Set the keyboard layout in System Settings > Keyboard > Input Sources > + > Others > Crypto Keyboard.
This keyboard includes special glyphs in the Private Use Area (PUA):
- Shift + Option + 1: Open-Source logo (uniE0A9)
- Shift + Option + 2: Digital Euro (uniE926)
- Shift + Option + 3: Digital Franc (uniEAFA)
- Shift + Option + 4: Digital Dollar (uniE227)
- Shift + Option + B: Satoshi Symbol (uniF1B6)
These glyphs require the Zephirum font to display properly.
Please note that PUA glyphs are not standardized across fonts. To use these glyphs with other fonts, you'll need to either:
- Request font creators to add these specific glyphs to their fonts
- Modify the fonts yourself to include these glyphs at the specified Unicode points
The § key serves as a dead key, allowing you to create various mathematical and special symbols. Press § first, followed by the second key:
