User Interaction

The purpose of this page is to document how the user will interact with various elements of FlowCut.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Context Shortcut Name Description
Any Ctrl+S Save Saves the current project
Any Shift+Ctrl+S Save As Saves the current project to a specific location
Any Ctrl+Q Quit Quits FlowCut with a confirmation dialog
Any Shift+Ctrl+Q Force Quit Quits FlowCut without confirmation
Any Shift+A Add Open up the library popup to add a clip
Library Shift+V Video Filter to Video clips
Library Shift+A Audio Filter to Audio clips
Library Shift+I Image Filter to Image clips
Library Shift+T Text Filter to Text clips
Library Shift+(1-9,0) Favorite (1-10) Select favorite #1-10 (10 = Shift+0)
Library Enter Load Clip Loads selected clip onto cursor slot
Library Shift+Enter Insert Clip Inserts selected clip at playhead on active track

Timeline Cursor Behavior

Cursor Action Target Result
Empty Left-Click Move playhead and change active track
Empty Right-Click Move playhead, change active track, and open library popup
Empty Left-Click Clip Select & move playhead
Empty Right-Click Clip Effect / transition / automation popup
Has Clip Left-Click Insert clip at clicked location
Has Clip Right-Click Insert clip at clicked location and immediately open effect / transition / automation popup
Has Clip Left-Click Clip Cut clip at location and splice in cursor clip
Has Clip Right-Click Clip Cut clip at location and splice in cursor clip, overwriting the existing clip instead of offsetting
