The Library refers to the clip library through which any content is added to a project in FlowCut. The main concepts of the library are as follows:
- It should be accessible anywhere. This means not just some panel that is fixed in the window. It will be accessible anywhere in a popup that can be accessed with a simple keyboard shortcut.
- It should be fully searchable. This includes numerous filters based on type/content, as well as searching by title, filename, and tag.**
- It should be FAST to add anything. This means the entire library will be indexed for instantaneous search results.
- It should support a wide variety of clips. Go to the Clip Types section to learn more.
- It should have multiple scopes. This means having both a project- and global-scoped library so you can share resources that need to be shared and consolidate resources that don't need to be shared.
The current clip types are as
- Audio clips - these can be anything from sound effects to music to voiceovers. In addition to normal title/filename filtering, audio clips can also be filtered based on their duration and quality (kbps).
- Video clips - these can be any raw video clip or footage. They can be filtered by their bitrate, framerate, and resolution in addition to normal filters.
- Title/text templates - these are rendered text which can be overlayed on top of another video clip. They can be searched by textual content in addition to normal filters.
- Image clips - these are static images which can be overlayed on top of another video clip. They can be filtered by transparency, resolution, and overall color (?).
- Transitions - these are transitions to be used between clips such as wipe, fade, dissolve, etc.
- Effects - these are A/V modifiers which can affect the sound or appearance of other clips. This includes audio distortions, equalization, etc. as well as video recolorations, visual distortions, shaders, and more. They can be filtered by type (audio or video) in addition to normal filters.
- Groups - these are saved groups of clips which can be thought of as templates. They can be filtered by the name of clips which they contain, the total number of clips contained, and all other normal filters.
