Useful commands

Note: Things are case sensitive

Note: This is not a comprehensive list of commands.

While looking at an image:

• click and drag to sum columns in the X direction between mousedown and mouseup
• r - reset the profile
• c - continuum mode. press this before clicking to get the profile of objects with continuum
• e - go into "extraction mode"

While in extraction mode

• m - Fit a gaussian to the profile on the plot where the mouse is
• e - Extract profile
• s - Set background region.
• S - Save the spectrum/a
• h - Help. Shows all commands
• ? - Help. Shows all commands. Arranged alphabetically
• w/W - increase / decrease width. I think it changes by 0.1
• r - select a range to calculate the SNR using error bars and the standard deviation of flux
• x - zoom in/out in the plot
• X - fit a Gaussian to a section of flux for redshift guessing.
